My Last Day!

There we go - my last day at the glasshouse! You know, I think I'm really going to miss this lovely pad once I move out. Contrary to what many thinks (ie feelings of loneliness, claustrophobia etc), I really had and have no qualms about living by myself in 1 place for 7 days, especially not when my abode is so fine and that I can get everything under one roof from ST701!

But all good things must come to an end. Today marks the finale of my stay. I did my last skit – one with Ryan, my Ultimate Date – as ‘Dad’ brought along a poem-sprouting chap that is Maximilian to ask for my hand in marriage. No prizes for guessing how I fended him off, of course!

Then, I took my final lunch orders via ST701/Shops again before proceeding to prepare to sunbathe on my deck. I’ve never thought that I could experience such serenity and charm right smack in the middle of CBD. Picture this – me in my bikini, on Raffles Place Park while white-collar workers busy away. Who could beat that? I'm gonna miss my deck chair, umbrellas and coffee table when I sell them away (someone has already picked up the shades when I posted them up for sale on ST701!).

Finally, I geared up for my last pole-dancing lesson as well. It was such a great workout – I’m really bushed – from all those moves and grooves. But I’m glad I learn something new, and could now swirl to graceful moves like the fireman spin, geisha and fairy etc.

Okay, I need to take some last shots and pack up real soon, or I won’t have the time to do so later on as I’m helping out with the Get the Right Stuff grand draw at 7.01pm! Sob sob, this is heart-wrenching – till the next time, its ciao for now. Au Revoir!

I sold my beautiful glass house!

It’s time to say goodbye. I finally sold my beautiful glass house, home of mine for the past 6 days.

In the early afternoon, a property agent, Matthew, stopped by to convince me to sell it. Then another agent, Rick came by and asked for the exact same thing!

They competed with each other, trying to make the sale. In the end, Mathew got the deal, as he not only advertised my property online through ST701/Property, he also found me a place to move into (where else, through ST701/Property). He was the obvious choice. He had all his pictures, videos and information of his properties on ST701. I went ahead and sold my property for $4 million! How exciting is that?! I was also thinking – perhaps now I can use the extra cash to get a car from ST701/Cars. And maybe, even a jewellery or two, from ST701/Shops. Ooh, sounds delicious!

Tomorrow is cash giveaway day. Ryan is getting $1,000 for being my Ultimate Date. I hope he can pull it off to convince my father that he really is my boyfriend.

Before I leave, I will also give away $5,000 to the winner of a grand draw who would have compiled a complete and correct list of 3 items that I've found daily through ST701, between 17 & 22 Oct.

Well, till tomorrow, I’m off to getting my manicure/pedicure service and ordering my last dinner in the glasshouse, both via ST701/Shops, of course. Ciao for now!

My Ultimate Date?!

The strangest surprise today was finding my father practicing yoga in my garden. What a shock. He told me he's just agreed to an en-bloc sale for his condo, I was initially worried that he was thinking about asking me if he could move in! Anyway, he tells me that his dream location should be close to Orchard Road. Then he tells me he wants a 50-metre pool, a garden and to be accessible to local food courts. He doesn't want much! Anyway, using the very unique search function on ST701/Property (Condo), I found him the contact details of a number of property agents who have just what he is looking for.

My brother, Jeremy, also popped round. What an Ah Beng he is, trying so hard to act cool in front of Sarah (the web host). Anyway, at one stage I thought my father was going to ask me if ST701 could help with English lessons for him. Instead it was Jeremy who wanted my help. He has just got a new job and asked me to help him find a car. Via ST701/Cars, of course.

Before Dad left, he mentioned that he'll be celebrating with mum their wedding anniversary next week. OMG, how could I forget?! Jeremy and I decided to get them a gift - a romantic travel package to Macau - through ST701/Shops. I'm sure this would make up for it!

Dad also dropped a bombshell at the door. He's turned matchmaker! Apparently he thinks I should be married, and he has found for me the perfect husband. Or so he says. And here I am with my own business (incidentally, I signed up for ST701's "Get the winning sales edge" seminar via ST701/Jobs - gonna get some sound advice from a reliable source!), striving to be an independent woman. Goodness only knows what he'll be like.

Talking about his terrible idea - I have a plan. I'm going to find someone to be my boyfriend, so my father gives me a break for a while, now all I have to do is find the right one, someone who can act as my boyfriend. You should have seen the guys audition to be my Ultimate Date today - huffing and puffing along as their go through an IPPT-like obstacle course at Raffles Place Park - in a bid to make it for the final tomorrow. I can't wait. The quest tomorrow's gonna be even more exciting, with fun "Wrestle-mania" fights and wicked Q&A awaiting them :P

Tonight was so relaxing. I invited all of my girlfriends over and baked them cupcakes. Thank goodness I ordered a coffee maker via ST701/Shops earlier, so could have coffee as well! We had cocktails and a leisurely chat, too. I’ll upload the pictures soon. Stay tuned.

Ryan is My Ultimate Date!

What a day! After a very challenging session yesterday, dealing with my father and auditioning many hopeful suitors for my “Ultimate Date”, Barbara Zee suggested I hire a masseuse and she pointed out one that was nearby. I had a better idea. I went online to ST701/Shops and found Emerald, a masseuse - with a hidden talent.

When she arrived, she sensed something was sapping my energy. We discovered that it was caused by - a plant, so I had it moved outside. Shortly after, I went to ST701 again and posted a free ad to sell it away. Any offers out there? A bargain at S$1.50! (And although it is unlucky for me, Emerald says it should be lucky for someone else. Woohoo!)

Later, I found the perfect guy to stand-in as my boyfriend on Tuesday. His name is Ryan and he won “The Ultimate Date” challenge despite some pretty tough competition. First, he had to sumo wrestle, and his wits and strategies helped him emerge as one of the top contestants. He also answered some tough questions and finally he sang me a love song (The Way You Look Tonight) – so sweet of him.

He seems to be the crowd’s favourite, too. Although runner-ups Vincent and Alan did really well too, I feel that Ryan had that something extra that could help me out, so there you have it, Ryan’s my Ultimate Date! I am sure father will be impressed. Can’t wait till Tuesday!

Hang on, can’t wait until Tuesday? Tuesday is my last day at the glass house! I only have two more nights here! Better make full use of my time here to do more stuff. Hmm, I think I would go to ST701/Shops and search for a language course. I've always wanted to pick up a third language. Perhaps I would also use this same vertical to seek out a cat for adoption. Kinda miss my pet poochie, and getting it a feline pal sounds like a good idea as well :P

Come to think of it, I’ve lived here at 701 Raffles Place Park for the past 5 days, and during all that time, I have never ventured further than the white picket fence that surrounds my garden. Imagine that - 5 solid days - and I could get everything I needed through ST701. Isn’t that amazing?

Two more days to go. I think I’m going to really miss this place. But first, I'm gonna enjoy some VCDs I got from ST701/Shops earlier in the week before I hit the sack. Haven't really had time to catch up on my Sex and the City episodes! Tata...

I Love Cupcakes!

The best thing about today was baking with Elliot Danker. I baked with flour, eggs, sugar and the best Verona chocolate…and Elliot Danker!

As you all know, I love cupcakes…love them so much that I was delighted when I realised that WKRZ 91.3 FM DJ Danker was celebrating his birthday and wanted to try 'em.

He popped round just after lunch and we baked Verona Chocolate cupcakes with vanilla butternut cream frosting. Actually he more than helped - he did the
baking! What a great student, he followed all my instructions meticulously - and the cupcakes were absolutely delicious. Happy Birthday, Elliot.

Being the gentleman that he is, he wore the apron and left me in my new white ST701 T-shirt to get covered in chocolate stains and butternut cream smears! Hah!

All that heat also caused my air-con to break down! Thank goodness, I managed to get a repairman through ST701/Shops.

Earlier in the day I hired a maid. Not a normal maid, a singing maid. Imagine that, an all singing all cleaning maid. But I later found out that the only
songs she sang were sad songs, sad because she was in the wrong job. She wanted to sing she said, and work with her other love, children. So I went onto the www.ST701.com website under the category, Jobs/education-childcare and I found her an interview for a speech and drama teacher job. Ah Guan, my best friend-cum-car salesman, also dropped by to showcase
his impressive business on ST701/Cars to me. Really enticing me to buy a car soon...But first, I must check out what are loan rates and COE prices to make a sound decision. I think I'll suss out ST701/Cars again. While I'm at it, I'm gonna seek out a Mini Cooper there, too. You know how stylishly cool these coopers are - and there lots of options available within this vertical for me take my pick :)

But first, tonight I must get to bed early as tomorrow is a huge day. I’m going to be checking out the finalists from The Ultimate Date Challenge. Wish me
luck. Goodnight...

Day 2

5.30am – Call me a kiasu Singaporean, but this is the time I rose to start my day. I am aware that it is way too early. I should be up at 7am instead but I thought since it was the first day I slept overnight, I should wake up early so as to not miss anything. Well I missed nothing, because nothing happened at 5.30am…(rolls eyes).

Anyway, my first night here was oh-so-comfortable but in spite of that, I kept getting up every hour or so. 2.15 am, then at 3.30am, then at 4.30am, and lastly 5.30am at which point I thought I’d shouldn’t bother going back to sleep.

So at the moment, I’m in desperate need of some REM! Hopefully I get some tonight.

So how was my day today? Full of activity as usual. I particularly enjoyed the skit today. So dramatic!! My glass house was broken into by a burglar, I ran out screaming! In no time though I was online on ST701/Engineering & Architecture finding him a job in a Biotech firm as I later found out he had an engineering degree. That came as a big surprise, I’m sure!

In the midst of catching the burglar, our friendly neighbourhood policeman sprained his back. So of course, I come to the rescue and find him a physiotherapist on St701/shops/Professional Services/Medical Services.

I will be ordering my dinner later and getting a part-time home help to clean up my house tomorrow (it’s a bit messy now!) – again, through ST701/Shops, of course.

I started my first pole dancing lesson today and boy, let me tell you, if you have weak arms, it ain’t gonna be easy. Yes you guessed it, as toned as I look, I have probably enough strength in my arms to carry my purse and nothing else. I couldn’t believe what a workout it was!! So there I was, with my trembling arms trying to manoeuvre the rest of my body around the pole. I learnt that it is not the legs you use but the arms, it’s all in the arms and at the moment my arms feel like they have been run over...twice.

Well till tomorrow – I’ll be baking (with radio hunk Elliot Danker, no less) in the evening! So, come on down to the park if you wanna, erhm, sample my supplies. Speaking of which, I should host up an ad through ST701/Shops to sell my cupcakes soon too (hey, I bake professionally you know)…Signing off from the Glasshouse. ZZZ…

7 days. 01 place.

7:01am – I arrive at my glasshouse, which will be home to me for the next 7 days. A mixture of excitement and uncertainty overwhelm me. My journey indoors begins.

7:30am - I unpack and check out my new place. It is better put together than I expected. A cosy little place but well equipped and very functional.

While having breakfast, I’m happy to discover that I have a plasma TV, will put the Sex and the City VCDs I brought to good use.

8am – I start to prepare for the press conference and am briefed on the day ahead.

9am – Press conference begins and I say a few words to the press, pose for pictures as well as give short interviews. The most asked question is whether I mind the see through house and if I can manage to go on with my activities while everyone looks in. It really doesn’t bother me, and so far people have been polite and no one has gawked or made me feel uncomfortable. Well not too many people at least, I can handle a handful. I move on to give a tour of the glasshouse, the reporters are impressed.

11am – Preparations for the lunch time skit. Hair and make up follows. I ordered my Japanese bento set lunch online via ST701/Shops!

12.45pm – Skits start, the actors involved have such a professional attitude, and it’s so easy to act with them as the energy they exude bounces off each other, making the whole experience not only entertaining but dynamic. Also I’ll have you know that there is no script, so the whole skit is improvised!! True professionals indeed, I take my hat off to them. Missed all the action? Well, here’s a sneak of what we did: I helped my ‘sister’ seek out an assortment of HDB rental and career choices (as a chef!) via ST701/Properties and Jobs respectively; I also assisted my nice ‘delivery chap’ options for a new bike via ST701/Car.

3pm - Speaking of hats, in the afternoon, I put on my sun hat and slipped into my bikini for a little R&R on my lawn for about an hour.

4pm – In desperate need of a manicure and pedicure, I went online to ST701 and searched for a manicurist who would do home visits. I was lucky!! I found an option of a lady who only does home visits. So I took her number down and called her immediately fixing an appointment for later that night. The only hard part was trying to convince her I was really living in a glasshouse in Raffles Place Park!

5.30pm – I realized I only brought along with me one bikini and since I enjoyed reading and just relaxing outside on my deck chair in the afternoon, I would need more than one bikini. Can’t be caught wearing the same thing twice you know. I’ve a style reputation to uphold! So I sat there cracking my head, maybe I could sneak off to buy one and no one would notice?? Then I came up with a better idea and went online to ST701 and searched under the category Shops and found a bikini salesman! I called him an arranged for him to come by right away. Bikini emergency!

7pm: A good friend dropped by for a chat over coffee, had dinner with her as well.

8pm: My manicurist arrives. She does an amazing job! Hhmm, I’m thinking of signing up for pole dancing lessons. I shall check out ST701/Shops for some inspiration later!

11pm: While admiring my pedicure, I prepare for bed awaiting another activity filled day ahead.
